We all have our favourite lippy…. yes? Especially during the party season. This year I am on the look out for a new one and I have been trying out some bold hues from ILIA Beauty ever since my favourite ILIA Karma Cameleon lipstick crayon finished. Karma Cameleon was a perfect bright and firey confidence boosting coral and was the first ILIA product that I ever tried.
With a clear focus on organic and ethical beauty and using skin nourishing certified organic bio-active botanicals, ILIA is a brand that differs from all the other natural beauty brands out there. They not only understand that not every natural ingredient is good for the skin but also that not every synthetic is bad for the skin. ILIA Beauty have been using a hybrid of safe synthetics and clean ingredients to create an award-winning range of high performing, ethical, sustainable and luxurious products that are kind to the skin. The result is an effective, brilliantly pigmented and gorgeously created makeup line.
ILIA Beauty’s ethical focus continues with their beautiful packaging, which is as sustainable as possible with the use of recycled aluminum, glass and post consume recycled paper printed with vegetable based dyes. This Vancouver born brand has had amazing global success since its 2011 launch, but I do personally feel that in 2018 this success has levelled up. I for one love a number of the new products and was also super excited to see ILIA in Space NK in the UK …. making it even more accessible.
As one of the first “good for your face” makeup brands that I used, ILIA Beauty has so many hero products. This is probably why nowadays ILIA Beauty has the majority share in my make up bag. I am so pleased that ILIA’s Founder, Sasha Plavsic, is back again to answer the Festive Fast Five for the third time.
What would you love to find under the Christmas Tree or in your Christmas Stocking this year? If I were to be selfish a new Mansur Gavriel tumbled leather back pack, which will be my new diaper bag with a second kid on the way. If I were to just think about the baby, then a Baby Bjorn bouncer, as that is something that I cannot go without for a newborn!
What is your favourite festive food, tradition or way to celebrate the holidays? In Holland, they celebrate Sinterklaus in early December. My husband is Dutch this is always such a fun tradition to do, especially now that we have a 3-year-old. It’s very festive and light-hearted.
What is your top beauty tip to keep that glow this festive season and top well-being tip from 2018? Keep you skin hydrated. I like to use a good face oil combined with a vitamin C serum in the morning and then again with a glycolic or AHA at night so that there is still some self repair happening to the skin, but with an added boost of moisture. Sleep when you can and don’t sweat the small stuff.
Five products that I could not live without….Our Limitless Lash Mascara, True Skin Serum Foundation, Lip Conditioner in Balmy Days, Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum and Odacité’s Carrot Oil.
What is your best bit of 2018 and what are you looking forward to most in 2019? 2018 was a busy year, but truly enjoyed some of our big product launches that put new categories on the map in the clean beauty. For 2019, I am excited to welcome a second baby into the world and of course continue expanding and creating more exciting product for ILIA. My New Year’s resolution is to create time for myself. It’s something that disappeared a few years ago and without it I don’t have the same creative energy.
Thank you Sasha!!
