New Make Up Haul – Part 1

New Make Up Haul – Part 1

I had the most amazing Easter weekend. Yes there was chocolate a plenty, but I was also away for the wedding of one of my big brothers. I was not at all well organised when it came to choosing what dress to wear and I ended up decided that on the day…. just before I left my hotel room!  I was however, super organised about buying myself some new make up for the occasion.  I had signed up to the Content Beauty newsletter and in return I received 10% off my order.

There was quite a lot of choice on the Content Beauty website and any questions I had were quickly answered by the customer services team. I had a lot of questions for them… and I mean a lot especially as I was looking at brands I had never tried before. Eventually I picked W3ll People Bio Brightener, Hypnotist Eye Pencil and Elitist Mineral Eyeshadow, RMS Beauty Cream Eye Shadow, Ilia Lip Crayon and Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Luminous Foundation. Within two days my order had arrived and it was compactly but beautifully packaged. The items were wrapped up in black tissue paper and secured with a branded sticker. I was really excited to try them out and a long day at a wedding was the perfect testing ground for my new products.  Here is how I got on with my W3ll People goodies.

I ended up buying three products from W3ll People. This is definitely a Fifi Friendly brand as it’s products are

Made WITHOUT Artificial preservatives, parabens, harsh chemicals, dyes, fragrance, silicone, dimethicone, pthalates, sulphates, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride, nanoparticles and bad mojo”.

These 100% natural products have organic at their core and use nourishing organic Aloe Vera in nearly everything in the range. W3ll People was founded by a make up guru,  cosmetic dermatologist and a tree hugger. I love that their bright eco-friendly packaging has a sticker on it saying “hippie tested, diva approved”. If you want high quality, high performing and 100% natural, you will love this brand.

W3ll People’s Bio Brightener is £27 and comes in an easy to apply stick. I love this product! It sat perfectly and was weightless on my skin. This luminising stick adds great definition in a colour called Moostone Glow, which has a slightly gold hue (don’t let this put you off).  I used it on my cheek bones, under my eyebrows and on the bridge of my nose. It is creamy which makes it easy to blend, it is light reflecting and really nourishing thanks to it’s 100% natural ingredients that include organic aloe, green tea and chamomile.

I used this brightener for the first time after a fairly sleepless night and it really gave my complexion a massive pick me up especially when I used it under the eyes. One family member said I looked refreshed. I will take that anyday! The colour is great and is not glittery. I find that some luminisers are really silver coloured and can make you look a bit like a circus act or pantomime character…. not attractive for day to day wearing! This Bio Brightener is as subtle as you want it to be, natural, really effective and just awesome. It is really easy to take out and about. My only concern is the white packaging will get trashed with my super pigmented other products. I have found myself wanting to apply it everyday since the wedding. Super flattering for every occasion. I apply with the stick before blending in with my fingers. Love, love, love.

I am never without some form of eyeliner and was excited the try Hypnotist Eyepencil by W3ll People. This is a wonderful black eyeliner that is masterful in so many ways. It glides on the eye like a dream. There is no dragging. It is creamy and velvet like in texture and is so easy to work with. I used it as a straight forward eyeliner on the day of the wedding, but I have since experimented and used it to create an awesome smoky eye as it is good to blend with.

What I love most about this eyeliner is the fact that it can be applied precisely or blended and it still holds it’s place. I am normally happy to reapply eyeliner at any excuse, but I did not touch this one up at all thoughout the day or evening reception. To be honest I normally go for brown eyeliners unless I am getting a liquid eyeliner, when I choose black, so I wondered if Hypnotist would be too harsh on me. The colour is deep and rich, and I like it. One of the easiest eyeliners I have ever applied. It has great pigment and the pencil itself is not too hard but not too creamy. A new favourite without a doubt.

Finally I bought the Elitist Mineral Eyeshadow in Matte Eggplant. I am very new to mineral make up let alone mineral eyeshadow, but I heard that the pigment of this eyeshadow was to die for. I got a shock at how pigmented it actually was. Note to self, always do a trial run of new make up before using it for an event. Luckily I had not been heavy handed with my application, as little really does go a long way!!

I used this versatile eyeshadow as a shadow, but it can also be used as a liner or to contour with. I was personally worried about how messy this mineral powder eyeshadow would be, but I got the hang of it very quickly. It can be used wet or dry and but always with brush or tool. This richly pigmented product has proper staying power. I wore it all day without having to re-apply. I only noticed a small amount of creasing but that was heading towards the end of the night….. and it had already lasted well by this point.

So far I have been blown away by the great products I have tried by W3ll People. This is clean beauty at it’s best!! 5* Fifi Friendly is being award to this gorgeous range.  I can’t wait to try out some more.
