Ayurveda Pura

I hear you Ayurveda….

For a Sunday afternoon I am feeling suitably revitalised……hmmm…..that is not normal for me. Definitely not due to me burning the candle at both ends this week….. certainly not because I had guests and two dogs to stay this weekend…..and categorically nothing to do with having two pre-schoolers, who are described as being “spirited” and who were more “spirited” than ever at having guests with two dogs to stay!! It is 100% to do with the skin treats I have just tried……enter Ayurveda Pura and their Holistic Essentials.

Getting any product online without trying it in person first is always a bit daunting, what happens if you hate the smell and how the product feels etc etc. When you enter Ayurveda Pura’s website you click through to discover your body type.  This was my first dalliance into Ayurvedic skincare and I was pretty fascinated when answering the questions to work out my Dosha, body type. This was not your usual find out if you are pear sharp, athletic or apple shape quiz…….no, this was helping me choose products that suit the composition of my body. Although it was described as a rough guide, the short questionnaire covered areas like body frame type, hair type and speech (i.e fast and talkative or a person of few words…..that was not a tough one to choose from). It then went on to cover, amongst other areas, memory, sleep pattern and sweating. At the end when I got my results I represented dominant Vata Dosha (air and space) and Ayurveda Pura went on to describe my type in some more detail. I could not wait for my sample set to arrive.

A couple of days later some pretty little packaging arrived including Daily Face Cream, Re-Juvenating Skin Toner, helpful booklets to tell me more about Ayurveda Pura and also some of the treatments available at their Health Spa and Beauty Centre.

My first impression when opening the products was the aroma. Wow!  I remember being told at a spa once that the aromas you like the smell of the most are the ones your body needs. I was not going to complain with this. I found it hard to stop smelling them.

The Ayurveda Pura  Re-Juventating Skin Toner (De-stress-Vata)  had a gorgeous gentle rose/floral smell. Very refreshing. Felt beautiful going over the skin. Left my skin feeling toned and it did not feel drying. I could not get enough of the smell. I also put some on a cotton pad and left over my eyes. Bliss.  This is a perfect pick me up in the morning, relaxing at the end of the day and everything in between. I would imagine it would be ideal on a long flight.

The Ayurveda Pura Daily Face Cream (De-stress- Vata) has an intoxicating infusion of lemon, neroli and frankincense all mixed in with aloe vera and almond oil. My skin adored it….soaked it up and it left my skin appearing plumper and nourished. Again, I could not get enough of the smell and clasped my hands together in front of my nose to inhale……again and again. I found it calming and invigorating all at the same time.  A little of this product goes a long way and I am in love with it. This is a breakthrough product for me as I have been struggling to find a cream to give my skin that certain something. Feels great, applies great, smells great and I want a bigger pot!

From this small taste of  Ayurveda Pura’s products, I am BURSTING to have a trip to their award winning spa. I have already picked out my top 3 treatments that I would like to have….which took a hell of a lot longer than it should have done as I kept changing my mind and swapping! I suspect before I get there my mind will change a good few times again.

My wonderful friends and I started our “annual spa pilgrimage” last year to an amazing spa near us, which was unlike anything we had experience before and promised we would go to that spa every year. Ladies, I hate to tell you , the old place is dumped and I think I have just found where we NEED to go this year…………
