Living Nature’s Thickening Mascara

Living Nature’s Thickening Mascara

When it comes to make up I definitely am all about the eyes! In years gone by, it was a bit of a standing joke, that if I went out with a good friend we would always re-apply our eye make up …. on most trips to the bathroom … regardless if we needed it …. or not …. as quite often was the case …. more is more was the motto. (This same motto was applied to the hallowed but discontinued No.7 Skin Tint with Pearl …. we were a vision …. of something). At the end of the night there was definitely a panda eye look to things.  Luckily things have tamed down a bit and although I still do not like to be seen without at least some mascara, I am happy to avoid the Alice Cooper look.

Pre- going clean in my beauty, I was a devout follower of Chantecaille mascara for years. I liked what it did to my lashes and it never failed me. Finding a clean beauty mascara is a hit or miss game, however after trying Living Nature’s (www.livingnature.com) Tinted Moisturiser with great success I decided to have a look at what else they did.  I was lucky enough to be sent their Thickening Mascara in Blackened Brown to give my personal review.  It also comes in Jet Black- 8ml for £21.50.

I love that Living Nature products are all 100% natural and love the sleek black packaging of the make up range.   A couple of things I noticed when I first opened the tube included the fact that this mascara is fragrance free and also that the brush was not dripping in mascara. The 8ml mascara tube is thick enough to hold comfortably when applying and the brush grips the eyelashes well as well as separating them nicely….. no spider eye look here.

The award-winning Thickening Mascara gives a pretty great natural look with one application. I would not describe it as thickening at this stage. It does however build up beautifully and I have not managed to make it clump after layering it a few times!! Halloysite clay is one of the ingredients and it is renowned for thickening without clumping. I do find it takes a little longer to dry than other mascaras I use, but I can handle that if the result is worth it. I know I will be asked about flaking and I have not noticed any flaking of the mascara and not a glimpse of panda eyes! This mascara looks good with or without eyeliner. I genuinely felt like it was an extension of my own lashes …. just more defined.  As a natural product, this mascara is also particularly good for sensitive eyes.

Overall I find Living Nature’s Thickening mascara really versatile as you can go for the subtle fresh look with one coat, or layer it up for a more defined framing of the eyes. It did not provide the length that some of my other mascaras do, however it lasts well throughout most of the day and does not smudge once dry. I also found that my eyelashes felt in good condition after a week or so of using it. I continue to be pleasantly surprised at how Living Nature are making natural products stand up to the rest of the make up market. I would love to hear if you have tried any of their range.
