Pucker Up ….
Anyone else been changing up their makeup after seeing the Markle effortless style of makeup at the post Royal Wedding. Minimalist make up is all over social media …. especially nude lips. In an effort to break free from my make up rut of concentrating on my eyes or being all about a red lip, I decided to venture into the world of nude lips.
I have a few go-to green beauty brands when it comes to lip products and Living Nature (www.livingnature.com) is one of them. This New Zealand brand has a great range of certified natural lipsticks and lip pencils. Most are on the subtle side of the colour spectrum and perfect for this nude lip brief. I actually found it hard to choose but opted for their Precious Lipstick and Laughter Lip Pencil. First thoughts were that I liked the colours when they arrived as they are both a nude pink colour. I still love the black packaging that Living Nature use… very sleek and easy to hold.
The Precious lipstick is hand poured and individually flamed. I find it to be super easy to apply and definitely has a smooth moisturising texture to it. Castor Oil and Vitamin E are found in the ingredients list and are know for their great moisturising properties. I am still not 100% sold on the colour as I feel it may be a little too pale for me, but I really liked the product and will keep persevering with it. As with most of the other Living Nature lipsticks this one lasts well, even after eating and drinking. In fact it lasted so well one evening that I would recommend removing it properly at night to avoid finding a nice nude coloured smudge on your white pillowcase the next morning …. whoops.
The nude colours of Laughter and Precious are really easy to wear and perfect for everyday pared back makeup. I am a bit of a fan of putting on a bit of lip balm before application but to be honest with these lip products that is not necessary …. the formula feels great on the lips. Great products. I think I might be converted.
