Positive vibes man! Making my life more Fifi friendly.

Fifi Friendly

When I started this blog last May  I found this to be one of the most positive things in my life. It to me is very Fifi friendly. I still really enjoy doing it. I love the interaction with those who follow it and I love trying all the products. Most importantly no matter what else is going in my life, writing this blog is something that provides happiness to me. No matter what time of day or night I am writing this or how tired I am, I never find it a chore. From that respect it makes me think of something the Dalai Lama wrote, he said ” Happiness is not something ready made, it comes from your own actions”.

Happiness and harmony in life only truly comes when you link what you say with what you do and what you think. Only you can put yourself in that positive place. It is not about being a smiley idiot 24/7, lets be realistic. Part of this is surrounding yourself with people and situations that make you feel good. It can happen in the strangest of places too. This picture below was in a supermarket and still makes me laugh.

Have you ever noticed that being around some people can really change your mood and how you think?  We all have had those people in our lives who have an inane ability to drain us and it is really hard to stay positive around them. I have learnt that being around those people should be kept to a minimum. Conversely there are those people, situations and memories that really make you feel alive and like you can tackle anything.

I met with a great old friend this morning (longstanding friend … to clarify before I get any abuse from her for calling her old). She is one of my good friends that no matter how seldom I see her and what we discuss, I always come away feeling brighter and invariably having laughed a lot. Especially on those days where life is just pants for want of a better phrase,  this is such a great feeling. These are the kind of friends who are so easy to be around, so easy to be honest about your flaws with and make you feel happier at the end of the day. This really got me thinking about happiness. I remember seeing a quote a number of years ago which really rang true to me.

I guess what this means to me is, don’t wait around for life and don’t wait around for your own happiness to happen. I have become a firm believer that true happiness does not just depend on what possessions you have and who you are, but more on what you actually think and what situations you put yourself in. It’s all about the positive vibes, man! You will never be truly happy until you properly appreciate what you have.

Many of the happiest people I know, don’t really have a lot, but they know how to make the best of what they do have. They are not chasing someones else’s dream! They hare happy wanting what they have and are not wasting time pining for things they don’t. Essentially, they are happy in themselves, are not living up to expectations of others and don’t want to keep up with the Joneses.

If you are sitting reading this and expecting other people to bring you happiness, you may be in for a big disappointed. Take control of you life as no one else will. Surround yourself with people who make you feel great about yourself. (Ditch the ones that drain you). Whack your favourite tune on and sing your heart out in the car. Only this today I was in the car and all of a sudden Whitney Houston’s I wanna dance with somebody came on the radio.  It sprung my into my step. Live simply. Give out love to those who deserve it. Look out some old pictures and laugh. Do something that you really enjoy, something that you have great passion for…. it will make you feel great. Finally, this is your life, your dream and you are in control. The only thing standing between you and your goals or happiness is the story you tell yourself as to why you can’t achieve it. You get out what you put in. So let go of the negative stuff and enjoy. I have and I am making my life more friendly to me. More Fifi Friendly.

    Hi Fifi,

I love this post. I'm a big believer in creating your own happiness and that being in the present and content in your own body and place in life is the best way to be happy! Thanks for this post, it was great to read.

I love this, and I couldn't agree more. Tough to do sometimes when things around you are a bit rubbish, but only we can make ourselves happy, no one else can x #brillblogposts

Loved your post Fifi. And I so related to that. Fortunately I just stop chasing others dreams and hopefully start living my own. The difference is that now I am looking for it and not waiting that just fall in to my hands.

    Great reading.

Oh my goodness, it's like you climbed into my mind and read out my thoughts. I 100% agree with this. Happiness isn't a given and you have to work hard to surround yourself with positive people, fun, laughter and make the most of life. Ditch the negatives (sorry this isn't a shameless plug) and love life! #brilliantblogposts
