Get your Lippy on Girl…..

There seems to be a bit of a resurgence in lipsticks, not sure if you agree. I remember it being a staple in my grandmothers handbag but up until recently most women I know would be more concerned with being mascara-less leaving the house, than being without any other type of make up.  I remember reading a Marilyn Munroe quote which was something along the lines of “pour yourself a drink, put some lipstick on and pull yourself together”. The truth is a good lipstick, in a great colour can instantly revive your look and make you feel amazing….and sometimes we all need that!

I have been trying a new brand of Lipstick to the UK called Lippy Girl (www.lippygirl.com). Originally from Canada this brand is one to turn to if you are looking for a lipstick that is

  • 100% Vegan
  • Bee- free
  • Gluten free
  • Chemical free

Using only natural mineral pigments the  lipsticks are made from organic and wildcrafted natural oils and waxes, like castor oil, shea butter and jojoba seed oil. The end result is long lasting  and moisturising lipstick with good colours, from a recyclable aluminium tube.

I found  my Ski Bunny  Lippy Girl Vegan Lipstick was firmer in application than other natural lipsticks I have tried. To be fair this is not bad thing in some cases as it means you are in control of what you are applying! Don’t get me wrong, Lippy Girl is easy to apply and your lips will feel wonderfully moisturised, like they do after you have applied a great lip balm. As such, it did not dry my lips out and it also held its colour well. Colour -wise, Ski Bunny, is a nude pink tone that is very easy to wear all day and everyday. It was subtle and gave my lips a fab healthy sheen to them.
I like the black packaging and although it appears more condensed in size, you are actually getting 5g, which is slightly more lipstick in packaging than other high street brands. The lipstick itself is pretty much smell – less. Which I like.
Give Lippy Girl a try. You can buy it in the UK from Botanical Brands (www.botanicalbrands.com) for £12.50. Good price when you consider you are getting a quality, long wearing product  and with more product in the tube.  The only down point I had reviewing this item was trying to take the pictures outside in the windy weather as a  result of Hurricane Gonzalo. The product itself was amazing. Surrounding conditions….not so. Unfortunately, my Ski Bunny took a nose dive in the mud without her hat on.  I am off to replace.
