One of the highlights of my trip to Una St Ives was my treatment at the Made for Life Spa within the resort. I have enjoyed a number of Made for Life by Spiezia Spa Treatments …. all impeccable …. but I was expecting more at the stunning flagship spa. Part of the main building at the sublime Una St Ives, this spa is all about Made for Life by Spiezia Organics. There is a wonderful serenity as soon as you walk through the door. From the divine aroma, to the natural light, the mediation area or even the crystals on the tables. I got an instant feeling this spa treatment was going to be special.

Sadly our crazy week in Cornwall meant that my spa treatment had to wait until the end of the week …. Meh! …. however this has taught me a great lesson. A spa treatment just prior to a long car journey or just after checking out is perfect. Not only do you leave the resort supremely relaxed but you spend the next few hours allowing the organic essential oils to sink in. Most importantly you also smell gorgeous … and in fact the car then also smells sublime.

For my visit to the Made For Life Spa I opted for the treatment of the month, Rose Indulgent Ritual with a Radiance Facial. Made for Life by Spiezia Organics is a brand that has never let me down. Each Spiezia spa treatment I have had has been awesome, enriching, grounding and everything in between. What I have also found really interesting is what this brand does to the therapists who perform the treatments. I have now enjoyed a Made for Life by Spiezia Organics Spa Treatment in 4 different spas and each therapist genuinely loved Spiezia and enjoyed being part of the treatments themselves.

My therapist  who was to look after me for the next 2 hours …. yes a full 2 hours of this gorgeous treatment ….. was the lovely Erin who brought me to the spacious treatment room. This spa only launched a few months ago, but it is little wonder that it is gaining popularity with locals and Una guests alike.  Lovely touches in the room included lavender sprigs on the super comfortable treatment bed on your arrival. Erin calmly talked me through the ritual and I realised  I was in great hands.

My ritual started off with some gentle body brushing. Now, I understand the health benefits of body brushing but I have never found myself getting into the routine of doing it regularly at home. I always find it quite sore … or get bored of doing it. During this treatment I found the body brushing to be strangely relaxing and rhythmic.  Fully brushed, my body was then massaged with Spiezia’s sublime Rose and Vanilla Oil. I utterly adore this oil and find it to be truly luxurious. However, to maximise indulgence …. as if the whole ritual was not indulgent enough …. I was then massaged with the Restorative Body Balm and wrapped up in a cocoon like state.  I was now ready for the next part of my experience…..The Radiance Facial…. but not before several rose buds were placed on my chest to allow the most beautiful scent to be inhaled with each calming breathe.

As you know dear reader, I am not one for sleeping during spa treatments, especially not a facial, but this Radiance Facial had me drifting off. I actually found myself having a few mini dreams. I think I also woke myself up by doing that funny puff of air out of lips during exhalation thing. Awkward! That being said this cleanse, exfoliate, cleanse and moisturising massage filled facial felt dreamy. The Made for Life by Spiezia Organics facials feel different. They are more holistic. More soothing. More hydrating. More relaxing.

As my 2 hours came to an end I could have happily slept for a few hours on that bed. It is official, I adore these 100% Organic Made for Life by Spiezia Organics spa treatments. They are truly enriching from the mind, body and soul.  The Made for Life Spa is perfect for Una St Ives guests, locals, spa days with friends and indeed anyone who wants to reconnect with themselves a bit more. Spiezia Organics products are pure and the brand has worked closely with Macmillan and medical experts to develop treatments that are safe to use throughout the cancer journey.

For me, my enjoyment of the Made for Life Spa did not stop at the treatment. There are top notch leisure facilities at Una St Ives for guests to use. The infinity pool is not only beautiful but also a great size to swim in! The pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and showers have all clearly had a lot of money invested in them ….to great success. These facilities are far nicer than many 5 star hotels I have stayed in. For those of you who want some great food along with your spa visit, Una Kitchen is ideal. All in all I thoroughly recommend this 5* Fifi Friendly spa. LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is definitely one of my favourite spas of 2016.
