On 3rd May 2014, I excitedly but slightly nervously started to write my first blog for Fifi Friendly. To be honest I was a little hesitant to start with as I had never written a blog before, had no idea about html or anything like that, but I thought what the heck… let’s got for it. The week before I had taken a trip to my “mother ship” …. Wholefoods in Giffnock…. spent about 3 hours in the store and came home with a variety of Fifi Friendly products including Salt of the Earth by Crystal Spring. This was to be the first product I would ever review, this was the start of Fifi Friendly.
If I am being honest when I started Fifi Friendly, I did not expect it to grow half as quickly as it has. I knew I loved researching non-toxic products and wanted to share my thoughts, but this journey has been amazing. This experience over the last year has really taken me aback, inspired me, changed me for the better and made me view life even more positively. I now make more clean living choices where I can, I am more aware of what is being put in my body, on my body and being consumed by my family.
Writing Fifi Friendly has led me to make my life more Fifi Friendly…. as weird as it sounds. In a way it has been the catalyst for one of the most profound changes and growth periods in my life so far. In a year that has seen me move from being employed to being a blogger, becoming stay at home mum to two amazing little people and deciding leaving my marriage, what I have learned is what it feels like to thrive and work on something that I LOVE doing (even if it finds me still typing away at 1am). I learned to live a happier life.
What is next? I am genuinely so excited to find out. Fifi Friendly is now read in 89 countries around the world… wahhhh….. I cannot tell you how much this means to me. A massive thank you to all of you who have come along this journey with me, found new products and tried something different. To my gorgeous friends and family who have generally just been awesome, thanks for giving feedback, listening and getting just as excited about trying new products as I do (you know who you are!). To all of the amazing non-toxic, green living, allergen free and eco-friendly brands that I have reviewed, thank you for making your gorgeous products!
I can’t wait to see what year 2 brings.
