Rana’s Artisan Bakery – Fifi Friendly Festive Fast Five

Rana’s Artisan Bakery – Fifi Friendly Festive Fast Five

Dear reader, last summer I discovered the most awesome bread that was everything I wanted ….. and gluten free.  I first tried the bread from Rana’s Artisan Bakery  at the Allergy and Free From Show in London.  Their stall was a big hit and I first made a beeline for their Super Sourdough, then the New Italian, before landing at the Bold Buckwheat. All the gluten free products from Rana’s Artisan Bakery were amazing. We travelled back home to Edinburgh the next day with several packets of Rana’s coeliac friendly bread mixes and were actually blown away by how easy they were to make. It is little wonder why Rana’s Artisan Bakery has grown such a legion of fans.

I tried my first ever gluten free bread about 12 years ago and let’s be honest it was nothing to write home about. The bread choices then were few and many of the products were extremely dry and laden with ingredients I could not pronounce. I had always loved artisan breads or baguettes and I found myself missing good bread that was tasty, soft on the inside and wonderfully crusty on the outside.  I had given up on finding a good gluten free artisan bread …. until if tried Rana’s!

Today I am delighted to share Rana’s answers to my Fifi Friendly Festive Fast Five.

1. What would you love to find under the Christmas Tree this year?

I’d love a new Actifryer. I can’t resist a kitchen gadget, and these are amazing for cooking all sorts with very little or no fat. You can even get ones for super quick baking!

2. What is your favourite festive food, tradition or way to celebratethe holidays?

Cheese! I try to avoid dairy, but every now and then, I absolutely love cheese. An amazing cheese board is definitely one of my favourite christmas treats. We make a delicious sourdough cracker using our flatbread mix, which is just delicious with cheese.

3. What have been your favourite recipe or instagram finds this year?

I love to look for recipe ideas for bits of left over bread. There are so many great recipes for crouton salad, or herb breadcrumbs. Instagram is so amazing for new recipes, it’s too hard to choose!

4. What is your best bit of 2016 and what are you looking forward to most in 2017?

Winning our Great Taste and FreeFrom awards in our first year were definitely highlights. I’m so excited about all the new recipes we re working on for next year! Sourdough gluten free bagels, sourdough gluten free english muffins (both vegan), and so many more delicious and allergen free recipes.

5. My new year’s resolution is ….

….. Learn how to make a delicious black daal. I went to India for the first time this year, and now I’m obsessed with daal recipes.
