Hands up if you had a roast this Easter? I love gravy, but if I have not managed to make a gravy from scratch, for whatever reason, I have now found an alternative.
Prior to trying the Gluten Free Vegetable Gravy by Free & Easy I had struggled to find a good gluten free gravy or sauce mix. There was another brand that we had in the house, but it did not enhance the flavour of the rest of the meal, it overpowered it with a not such a nice flavour. Needless to say I found myself binning that old stock or gravy mix.
We found this Gluten Free Vegetable Gravy at Real Foods in Edinburgh where it was £1.65 for the 130g tub. Over and above actually tasting good…. yeah…. it can be made as thick or thin as you want. My advice is to expect it to thicken up well so don’t go too heavy with the powder. It is really easy to make. It does not all clump together and smooth when pouring. It is pretty much perfect. I have now tried it as a gravy and I have also used it in a bolognese sauce as a stock substitute. Tastes surprisingly good.
This Fifi Friendly product is gluten free, dairy free, yeast free, GM Free, vegan and vegetarian friendly. It is a great alternative to try if home made gravy is not available. Have you tried this? What is your favourite Gravy?
