When Fifi met Mel….
Having spent so many years struggling to find products that were more natural and more importantly performed well, I stand before you to admit I am slightly sad….actually totally sad when it comes to finding new products. I get a little bit too excited….in a seal clapping kind of way. (I know that I sound like an absolute mentalist now!). Today is one of those days. Fifi Friendly met Mel Millis.
Mel Millis was founded by Tracey Foy, who has harnessed nature as it was destined and has based her line of products holding well-being at the nucleus. She mixes nature with it’s science and her products profit from the bioactive phytonutrients of the plants she uses. Some of the ingredients used include the skin friendly hyaluronic acid, sea plant algae, spirulina, ginseng, green tea, frankincense oil and rose flower extracts. Once added together, the blend of antioxidants with ellagintanins, amino acids, essential fatty acids, minerals and pre-biotics encourage skin to be not only balanced, but hydrated and rejuvenated. Just what I need.
The first product I have experienced from Mel Millis is the Organic Rose Hydrolate Mist Tonic and comes in a 30ml (£15) or 50ml (£22)size (www.melmillis.co.uk). The ebullience started when I opened the parcel to discover gorgeous packaging. Utterly exquisite. It is not just made from recycled paper…. and not just totally biodegradable…. but it contains only British wild seeds. It is so natural that you can tear it up, plant it and watch your wild flowers grow! Possibly one of the coolest packaging concepts I have come across. As we speak I have dispatched Mr Fifi Friendly to our to the garden, packaging in hand, to test the theory.
This packaging is stunning, just in case you did not get that I was in awe of it. It feels robust, looks opulent and even the monogrammed sticker that holds it all in place looks impressive. I was blown away by this product before I had even opened it and excitedly went on whatsapp to one of my good friends to illustrate how elegant and alluring this product looks from the outside.
On the side of the packaging, I could see a date stamp to show that my product had been made this month….impressive. Based in the UK, they make all products in micro- batches. This is where they continue to excel against so many other brands. This has to be one to the purest and freshest products I have tried.
Sometimes when a product’s packaging blows you away you are left disappointed by what is inside. Not the case here. The Organic Rose Hydrolate Mist Tonic glass bottle with spray, contains one of the most perfect rose tonics I have ever come across. Designed to be used after a cleanser to help the skins acid mantle ph levels re-balance, this glides over the skin so beautifully. I cannot even begin to do justice to this smell. Flawless. It is like you are surrounded by rose petals and floating on air. It is delicate, but has great depth and is sweet but light all at the same time. I could literally spray my face with this all day. Unbelievably addictive smell.
(Whilst writing this I have actually just sprayed my son and other half’s faces to get their reaction…….it was good). My skin feels hydrated and definitely has more smoothness to it. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!…just in case you could not tell.
The Mel Millis product range is not afraid to list all ingredients and proudly has
- no parabens
- no petrochemicals
- no phthalates
- no artificial fragrances
- no preservatives
- no palm oil
- no GMO’s
- no alcohol
- not tested on animals
Impeccable…..this brand is impeccable. This product is impeccable. Luxurious. Exemplary. Faultless. Thorough. Complete. If you want to give yourself and your skin a treat, this is the one product you have to buy this month. The Mel Mellis Organic Rose Hydrolate Mist Tonic gets a Fifi Friendly 5* and is my favourite product for the month for May. (Friends and family….if your birthday is coming up you can expect this treat as a present xx)
