I was lucky enough to get to spend some time in the Caribbean when I was younger and one of my favourite things… no not the rum this time…. was the fresh coconut. Albeit a bit scary seeing some random guy, standing on a truck on the side of the road, brandishing a machete and chopping at the top of the fresh coconut. The end result was divine, refreshing, smooth, creamy and indulgent. I would go back in a heartbeat…..but now back to reality. I had read about Co Yo (www.coyo.co.uk) and was curious to try it so found myself clapping like a seal when I clocked it in Real Foods in Edinburgh (www.realfoods.co.uk).
It is described as a coconut milk yoghurt but it is so much more…. trust me this is way more decadent. This dairy, gluten, lactose, soya, and sugar free wonder is delicious. When you open the lid it is almost thickly set in consistently but in a creamy way and it is dairy free. As for the taste, it is utterly and creamily coconut. When I read on the container that it is “heaven in a mouthful” and I agreed 100%. It is also really good for you as contains all the beneficial fatty acid of one whole coconut, whilst giving your metabolic rate and immune system a good little boost.
I devoured the natural Co Yo which came in a 250g container and tried it by itself and with frozen raspberries…. so good. There is also mixed berry or pineapple or mango flavours to choose from. I also read on their website that they do a number of ice creams….. I NEED to get my hands on some of those.
I love Co Yo. So creamy and indulgent. They really need to make the containers bigger! I am not surprised they have won so many awards!
Congrats Co Yo, you are a 5* Fifi Friendly product. Can’t wait to try the rest of the range. Your website was great too and helped me find other stores located nearby.
